Northbeam Energy - Energy monitoring

You cannot bill what nobody has measured.

Circuit-level electricity monitoring for small industrial sites, with a meter per circuit and one dashboard for the lot.

Per circuit

Not per building, which is where the answer hides

Readings are taken every ten seconds and kept at full resolution for two years, so last winter is still comparable.

The panel

An instrument coming online, not a page loading.

Every figure below is invented sample data for a site that does not exist. The real value sits beside each counter as ordinary text, because an animated pseudo-element is not reliably readable by anything but an eye.

0.94Power factor
  • Site load, now

    412 kW

    Against a 660 kW supply

  • Circuits metered

    96 circuits

    Across four distribution boards

  • Reading interval

    10 seconds

    Never averaged before storage

  • History retained

    24 months

    At full resolution, exportable

Twelve hours, one distribution boardSample series. Peak sits mid-afternoon, not at shift start.

What a survey covers

  1. 01

    Board audit

Every way tested and labelled, including the ones nobody has labelled since 1998.

  2. 02

    Meter plan

Which circuits earn a meter, and which ones will never tell you anything.

  3. 03

    Install window

Almost always a single afternoon, and almost never an outage.

  • Hardware

    Clamps, not rewiring

Split-core current transformers fit around existing conductors. A typical board is instrumented in an afternoon without an outage.

    01

  • Data

    Yours, exportable

Full-resolution readings export as CSV or over an API. Nothing is aggregated away and nothing is held hostage to the subscription.

    02

  • Alerts

    Thresholds you set

Alerts are defined per circuit against your own limits rather than against an automatic baseline you cannot inspect.

    03

A survey tells you how many meters you actually need.

Northbeam Energy

A survey tells you how many meters you actually need.

Most sites need fewer than they expect, because the interesting circuits are a small subset of the board.

That is where the demonstration ends. Northbeam Energy is invented, so the buttons above lead here rather than anywhere. These two do work.

What you are looking at

Technique
@property-animated gradients
Why here
A gauge is a conic gradient and a bar is a linear one, and a gradient stop cannot be interpolated at all until the custom property behind it is registered with a type. Registering it is what turns a hard jump at the halfway point into a sweep - which is the whole reason this page is the one that dramatises numbers.
With animation off
Every gauge, bar and counter is declared at its final value in the base rule. With nothing animating, the panel reads as an instrument at rest rather than an instrument at zero.
  • @property <percentage> and <angle>
  • conic-gradient sweep
  • counter() from a registered <integer>
  • pathLength=1 line draw
