Accessibility statement
Meridian aims to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. In the EU that target follows from the European Accessibility Act, which has applied to consumer digital services since 28 June 2025, via the EN 301 549 standard. In Australia the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 points at the same guidelines.
This statement is honest about what has not been done
The site has been built against these requirements but has not yet been audited by a third party, and no testing with assistive-technology users has taken place. Until both happen, treat the claim below as our own assessment rather than a verified one. What has been done
- The animated opening sequence has a full reduced-motion alternative: the pinned section unpins, the scroll-scrubbing stops entirely, and every image and caption is shown as a plain stacked list.
- Nothing commercially important exists only inside the animation - the headline, the description and a working link to the prices are in the page from the first paint.
- Every interactive control has a visible focus ring and a target of at least 44 pixels.
- Colour is never the only signal: statuses, errors and progress are all stated in words as well.
- Text contrast meets AA against both the paper and the dark surfaces.
- Forms use real labels, describe their own errors, and mark invalid fields for assistive technology.
- The site works at 400% zoom and in a single column, with no horizontal scrolling of the page body.
- A skip link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Layouts are written with logical properties and no fixed text heights, so longer translations do not break them.
Known gaps
- No independent accessibility audit has been carried out.
- No testing has been done with screen-reader or switch-access users.
- The scroll-driven sequence has not been verified against a full range of assistive technology, only against the reduced-motion path.
- Several page photographs are still missing, so alternative text for them has not been written.
- There is no published conformance report against EN 301 549.
If something does not work for you
Tell us and we will fix it. Describe what you were trying to do, what happened, and what you were using - browser, device, and any assistive technology. We aim to respond within five working days.
Email [CONTACT_EMAIL], or use the contact form. If you would rather not use a form, say so and we will find another way.
Enforcement
If we do not resolve your complaint satisfactorily, you can escalate it to the relevant authority in your country: the national market surveillance body under the European Accessibility Act in EU member states, the Equality and Human Rights Commission in the United Kingdom, or the Australian Human Rights Commission in Australia.
Statement prepared 7 August 2026, based on our own review. It will be replaced once an independent audit is complete.
